Not all Work, Some Play!

This has been a crazy week at work. I have 30 teachers from around the country, in Fairbanks, attending an orientation preparing them for scientific expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. It's a full week of training but we scheduled in some play time :)

Teachers during an icebreaker - getting to know one another.

One of the many presentations.

Kalena talking with Ms. Maggie, a teacher from Maui. She loves Maggie :)

The teachers managed to watch the first mushers of the Yukon Quest dog race cross the finish line and then we went to the Large Animal Research station at the University and saw musk oxen, reindeer, and caribou.

The group at LARS.

Hey you! Do you have any snacks?

A Barren Grounds Caribou...Not a reindeer.

Like my horn?

Hey, let me out of this cage!

The afternoon was finished with a tour of the Museum of the North. Tomorrow, we have more training but I'm sure we'll manage for some play time at the World Ice Carving Competition and Ice Park! Work can be fun! Really!
