Quote of the week

“Only in Fairbanks is a high of 15 below and a low of 40 below considered a beautiful day,” he said.
Quote from the local newspaper.

If you haven't been tuned into our great Alaskan weather recently....well....it's been darn cold this past week! For over a week, we've had lows at 44 BELOW zero and the highs are still below zero. This is all supposed to change tomorrow night (Thank goodness!) and we should hopefully be heading into spring with sun and warmer days!

During our week of really cold temps, the Yukon Quest dog mushing race has been going on. Those poor people AND dogs were enduring -55 below along the Yukon river and it never warmed up during the day!! Brad was helping fly support for the Quest this year, as one of the check points (where they check the dogs/mushers out) is located in a National Park and Preserve. For his efforts, we got banquet tickets to a special musher's banquet tonight! Last night we went downtown to "Meet-the-Mushers".

Here is a photo of Kalena and her baby at the event.

Below, is a photo of Brad returning Lance Mackey's "lucky hat" back to him....I'm not sure I would have put that on my head!!!
