Winter solstice is a day of celebration in our home (and I'm sure all across the North). For many in the "lower 48" - it is the first day of winter. But here - we celebrate the shortest day of the year knowing that tomorrow we will start gaining daylight hours again. This is such a big deal that even on the local news they report how many "minutes" we of daylight we have each day of the year!
So, here's three cheers for the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year ~ Winter Solstice!
Waiting for Christmas
