The Wilder's departure reminded me that I hadn't had to deal with coming and going from our lives in quite awhile. When we lived in Kotzebue, it was the norm. People were always leaving, coming back, leaving again and after awhile one becomes numb and learns to just "deal" with not knowing if you'll ever see these people again. It doesn't make it easier - just another means of adapting to the environment. Anyway, I had that same "feeling" again that I had in Kotzebue when I had to say, "goodbye". Sad...but hopeful that our paths will cross again.
