It's the Great Pumpkin!

Nope, it's not Halloween yet - but we have been dealing with a very large pumpkin-like water tank this past weekend. Hmmm - you haven't heard about our water tank "issue"? Let me take you back a few months...to the month of April.

So, way back in April, during one of those times that Brad was gone to the field and returned....the pipe to our water-tank froze just a bit. After some hot water down the intake, it seemed to clear it up except that Brad heard a loud popping sound. We learned this weekend that the sound he heard was the sound of a tank collapsing inward. Many thousands of gallons of H2O later and about the time Brad was heading back into the field, it dawned on us that we had a leaking tank. Oh what joy it is to learn that you have about 300 gallons of water, two weeks, and two kids!

Six weeks later, we finally got our new water tank (aka the Great Pumpkin), rented a backhoe, and started digging one BIG hole. Here are some photos of the major event...

Brad starts digging the big hole.
The original plan is to dig out the old tank and put in the new one.

Chomp, Chomp....looks like a big dinosaur.
I know why "boys" like these toys!

Big hole and new plan.
Dan comes over and helps Brad shovel out the new hole next to the old tank.
Turns out the old tank was really too deep to dig out.

Brad in the new hole.

The Giant Pumpkin at the ready.

Tada! We did it! The new tank in the hole.
I don't have photos of how it got there since it was too scary and I was busy helping out!

Next step...hooking it all up and burying it.

Stay tuned!!
