January came suddenly and now it's almost gone! With the cold seeping into Fairbanks, we decided a road trip was in order and headed to Anchorage over the Martin Luther King holiday. Turns out that Anchorage wasn't much warmer but we had good times anyway!Brad was already in Anchorage for some training so I asked friends Sheri and Ajax to tag along. Kahlil decided to hunker down and have a football weekend :) We left early on a Thursday morning for the 357 mile drive. It took about 8 hours with stops and such but it was great fun and the scenery was spectacular!
Ajax and Landon hanging in the back of the car taking photos.

Road side scenery --- Denali was visible the whole trip.

In Anchorage, we had a fun weekend playing at our friend Tom's house. He lives near a park where we played on the frozen river.
Playing with Tom.

At the local playground. Who says you can't play in the cold?

River exploring...

We also had adventures with Uncle Doug and cousins Victoria and Gabby including a trip to the water park which is always a big hit!
All the kiddos...

We had a great time playing with everyone! It was a nice way to start the year.
