Fairbanks Thanksgiving

It's been a bit since I posted and I thought before another holiday comes and goes, I'd better post something from Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was great this year as we stayed in town AND it was warm! Thanks to the Pineapple Express and the Hawaiian Gods, we had a very toasty Thanksgiving which allowed for outdoor time! Mahalo!!

The festivities began with Kalena's preschool where they sang for the parents and shared special treats. It was really cute watching the kids. I didn't get any good video but a friend did. If she has video posted, I'll put the link here. In the meantime, here are few photos of the kids at during the party.

The ABC singers!

What cute turkeys Kalena and Jack make!

Our unhappy turkey....she hated the hat!

For Thanksgiving Day, we went to our friend's Mark and Maggie's house for a late dinner. Before dinner, we did lots of sledding and general romping in the snow! Dinner was the typical meal with way to many choices and way too much food for 4 adults and 4 kids --- but we were set for several days with all the leftovers! I think the dog even got tired of turkey! Chena, the sled dog finally got the last of the holiday and had a huge bowl of stuffing and other delights!

No turkey hat and sledding! Life is good!

Maggie and Kalena collide.

Here's a toast to the most food ever!

We also managed to visit Jeff and Julie one day and go for combo ski/snowshoe/walk down their driveway --- depending on your skill level. It was fun and all the kids are getting better at the skiing.

Out for a ski, walk, or snowshoe --- whatever you can manage.

Jack on skies.

Landon even attempted a pretty big hill with only 3 spills! He even herring boned most of the way up before he found it was more fun if you took off your skies and then let them go sliding really fast down the hill before retrieving them. I thought he was tired but he did that three times!!

The grand finale to our holiday was a trip to Chena Hot Springs to try and soak off all those calories.

Bliss.

And, that my friends was a great way to spend Thanksgiving!
