Home for the Holidays!

It looks like we are home for the holidays! This was planned but with the weather the way it's been lately...we weren't sure we were going to get home! Just last week we headed to San Francisco for a week at the AGU meeting. Brad and the kids came with me and met my mom and Aunt Lorraine. Here are a few photos of the kids enjoying the sun at the wharf...

We mixed work with plenty of playtime by going to the new aquarium and checking out the sea lions.

We somehow managed to leave San Francisco on the only sunny day in Seattle and make it all the way home. This is amazing since the Seattle airport has basically been closed since we passed through on Friday. Our friends, Mark and Maggie, weren't so lucky....they left San Francisco on Saturday and got stuck in Seattle. Like a bad movie - they have had plenty of airport time and finally got a hotel. They have hopes of leaving Seattle on Christmas Eve! We'll go over to their house and get it ready for Santa.

In the meantime, we saw Santa today and some reindeer - skiing. They joined us for the Candy Cane race at Birch Hill. The kids weren't too excited at first about this afternoon event but after they skied the loop and got candy canes - it wasn't so bad.

Here's hoping that you are where you want to be for the holidays! We are thinking of you all!

Happy Holidays!
