A cold weekend

Okay, so living Alaska is always interesting and usually lots of fun....but this is the time of year that most people leave for a quick trip "outside" to warm up their bones. This weekend we had highs of -30 below zero....just balmy. Some people say that "once it is 20 below, it's feels all the same". This is just not true. You can actually tell that a difference! For instance, this afternoon it got all cloudy and you could actually tell that it was "warmer". And, in fact the temperature had increased to -19 below! It felt great! :-)

So, what do we do on weekends like this? Well, Kalena dressed up and danced to the Nutcracker.....

And, then later babied "Tug" (a dog we are taking care of) with lots of blankets and made sure she was all comfy.

Later, we all went swimming in the 86 degree water at the Alaska Club - an attempt to warm our bones :-)
