It was only 8 years ago that Landon was born on July 14th. So hard to believe that it was really 8 years ago since it doesn't really seem that long ago but here we are.
For his 8th birthday, he attended Camp Habitat and then had some friends over in the evening. As the birthday boy at camp, he got to lead the group down the trail and he thought that was pretty cool. It was also fairly nice weather for his birthday and not as smokey as a few in the past. That was a bonus! This year's theme was about "Survivor Man". Not sure where this comes from but I did my best to accommodate the request -- complete with survivor related presents --- vest, compass, signal mirror, space blankets, whistle, etc... Landon even got his first Swiss Army knife! Big step! Hopefully, we won't be in the hospital soon...For the party, we had just a few kids over and Tessa got to spend the night. After a dinner of pizza and punch, the kids managed to create their own obstacle course in the backyard. That seemed to entertain them for several hours.

Later, Tessa and Landon played all night long with the mini finger flashlights that were in the goodies bag and I sent them to camp today on about 6 hours sleep.
Ah well, that is what summer and birthdays are all about :)
