The end of a trimester means it is Portfolio time at Chinook. It's a special week and one of the main reasons we like this school. The kids and their parents spend time together and go over all their work during the last trimester. They also get to demonstrate something they learned. It's pretty cool and fun to see the portfolio. On Friday, the whole school - Kindergarten to 8th grade - get to wear PJ's to school, watch a movie, and just have a fun day! It is fun to see 8th graders still in footed PJ's and Landon was so excited that he didn't have to get dressed at all to go to school! You just crawl out of bed and go!
For Kalena, after romping all weekend with her cousins - she headed back to daycare. It wasn't too bad since there was picture day and an afternoon at Happy Frog class. She loves Happy Frog - a combination creative movement and yoga class at the gymnastics place. Since she's too young to be in the ballet or other dance classes - this has been a good substitute - as it is run by a dancer. She loves being a tree, pretending to be airplanes, and flying around like fairies. It's all girls and she's totally in her element.
